OK, so it wouldn’t really be his first word, since he says “mama” and “dada”, but I’m pretty sure Cameron said “Obama” this morning. It was kind of like “mama mama Obama”. I have had the news on a lot lately..? This might disturb a certain member of my family..but don’t worry, Pop, he’s not necessarily a democrat, its just that “McCain” is harder to say. haha.
Quick update: All 3 babies are getting their next 2 top teeth, so we have a total of 12 teeth, with 6 coming in right now. This equals one or two wakeups a night, but nothing too bad.
The runny noses are almost gone, the coughing is pretty much gone too, not a fever to be found. Thank goodness, our party is this weekend! (Oh crap, our party is this weekend. I have LOTS to do.)
We are SO close to walking. I’m getting nervous.
The babies love nothing more than to roam free in the house. There is not a whine or a whimper to be heard when they are unconfined. I was thinking of gating off the kitchen, but they love it so much in there. Pots and pans are our favorite. Along with the sifter. I have safety locks on the “dangerous” cabinets, and they know now which ones they can go into.
Lily is a big waver and clapper. If you clap, she will think about it… then give you one clap. If she starts clapping on her own, and you start clapping too, she will stop. Clapping is her thing, see?
She gets very excited about things and waves her arms up and down, often whacking me in the face. She has the best belly laugh.. Cameron really makes her laugh a lot, hearing that is the highlight of my day I think:)
Cameron is getting FAST! I went to a Baby Boot Camp class today (a fun workout with the stroller/babies- I am sore now!) and I took him out of the stroller and put him down for a second, and he just took off, on a beeline for the other side of the field. And I was worried he would never crawl:) He has the cutest little butt-wiggling crawl too. He’s also getting major curls on the back of his head only. Which I don’t plan on cutting anytime soon, in case anyone’s wondering.
Ben, he’s just a character as usual. I cannot begin to explain how funny the faces he makes are. If he sees you come around the corner, he lights up (“YEAH!”) with his mouth open, and the crinkly nose, it’s so cute! And then other times, he just gives you a blank stare, punctuated with a quick eyebrow raise, (“You got somethin’ to say?”) His biting is subsiding.. I asked his pediatrician about it last week, and he said to just say “no” firmly, and put him down when he does it. He has been doing it less and less, so I guess it’s working. Thank God for that. For a couple days there he was like a pirahna, I was worried. Oh yes, and he’s a major climber. He will stand on anything to try to get up higher, so he can help himself to the toys outside their enclosure. He will stand on anything that will hold still enough to be stood on; a toy, a ball, your face, whatever. Absolutely no fear there. OK, one more thing he does and I’m done: his crib is next the the only shelf I could fit in the room, and I have had to take everything off the top (which used to be a perfect place for a little lamp) and I now have to empty the first shelf too, because he will stretch as far as he can, and grab anything he can reach. The other morning I walked in to the room and he had a book in there with him, and not a baby book either. I think he has go-go-gadget arms because I didnt think he could reach it!
That’s about it for now- my parents come tomorrow, so I am extremely hapy about that!
