It’s funny how the personalities are slowly but surely emerging and evolving in these kids.. I remember when Ben was first born, we thought for sure he was going to be a grumpy little guy. He looked us over in the hospital, like “so… you guys are my parents.. super.”
He was pretty colicky for the first three months, crying most nights around 7-9ish. It was rough, Then one day- magic. The crying stopped and this giggly, silly kid emerged.
I will say that Lily has been pretty consistent. From the get-go it was clear that she was going to be pretty confident, pretty much, has everyone’s number. Loves to laugh and be silly, but doesn’t give up the smile right away to new people. You have to earn it. Till, then, this is the look you get.
Cameron has always been the quieter, sweet, innocent one, who always gets his toys stolen by the other two. When you pick him up he immediately lays his head on your shoulder for a few seconds. Oh, so sweet and innocent. Yeah, right. After today I’m pretty sure he’s been playing me like a piano. Behold, exhibit A, Benjamin’s leg.
Before dinner I stripped them down and let them run around the house for a bit. Cameron and Ben go into the tent, and were playing with the little piggy bank toy with the door, that they sometimes like to shut each other’s fingers in. I hear Ben start screaming, and I figure that’s what happened, until a perfect set of teethmarks emerge.. I did what the dr advised to do in the situation, said a firm “no” and set him down a few feet away, alone, and paid no more attention to him for a minute. But this is not good. Ben was the first biter, and he’s mostly stopped. Now Cameron’s taking over the role I guess. But not only this, all day at Epcot as he sat behind Ben, he continued to reach up, pull Bens seat back, and pull his hair. And then look at me like he has absolutely no idea what just happened. Poor Benny! He probably did this 20 times. I’m at a loss, hoping it’s just a phase.
