While the kids make me laugh pretty much all day long, there is one part that is the best for me. Ironically, it used to be the worst part of my day before I had kids…. waking up. It was just so hard to pull myself out of bed. I would hit snooze on my phone repeatedly, until the last possible minute that would allow me to get to work on time. These days, I’m awakened by little giggles and gibberjabber on the monitor- chatter that is slowly forming in to intelligible words. (I have to note here, that in the early days of motherhood, I wondered more than once if I would ever again wake up to any noise other than crying) This morning it was Lily and Ben, having the same exchange, over and over.
Ben: “Hehhh- wooohhh”
Lily: “Uhhh- ohhhhhhh”
Ben: “Heeehh- woooooh”
and so on and so forth.. it was adorable. It made me want to get out of bed and peek at them. I tiptoed up to their door and looked at them, and they were sitting up in their cribs, looking at each other and giggling.. Cameron was up too, sitting up and bouncing in his crib. I only have to open the door a crack and they notice me, and instantly all stand up, grab the crib rails and do the “crib bounce”. I love it, some morning I have to think to get the camera and video it. The problem is that when they see the camera, they usually stop whatever they are doing and try to get the camera…
Here are a few pictures from last night/this morning..
And a quick update on the kids:
Lily is signing! She signs dog, milk, more, and bird. I’m not 100 percent sure she always knows what she signing, but its a start! She has developed her own language as well.. it goes something like “Gobeydobeydoobiegob!” Ben and Cameron don’t seem to be in on it.
Ben is still obsessed with the phone! He has a phone in his hand at least 75% of the day. He loves to say “hello”.. if he hears a phone ring somewhere, he says “hehh-roooo” or “heh- wooooh”.
Cameron, still working on his walking, he’ still taking around five steps, max. He’s a peek-a-boo nut as well. Unfortunately, he is emerging as the mischievous child.. If there’s crying, it usually involves Cameron stealing someone’s toy, possibly giving a little nibble in the process. Actually, I don’t think he realizes what he’s doing, as he usually looks at the victims like, “What’s your problem?” after he perpetrates his crime. We need to work on this. But most of all, he’s my little swwetie. He can be in hysterics over something, and he just crawls into my lap, puts his head on my shoulder, and it’s all better. He is also getting some teeth right now, so that definitely is contributing to the behaviors lately..
Have a nice weekend!
