We had a playdate yesterday with our friends Hunter, Hadden, Hendrix, Jill and Aaron at the park! We hadn’t seen them in what seemed like forever, but now that we’re all healthy it’s time to start getting out again. It’s so fun to see all the babies interact, little by little it becomes more and more. They still seem to mostly stick with their siblings to play but that’s normal for their age. A lot of toy-stealing (and hat stealing) goes on, but its all in good fun. As they get older, it really just gets more and more fun for all of us. I was a bad mommy yesterday and forgot my camera, I had to steal these pictures from Amanda and April:)
My mom and dad left today, taking my siberian husky, Cobi, with them. I got her when I was 20 years old, probably still too irresponsible to have a dog, and she’s been with me though a lot of things in my life. The last thing I thought of when I got her was to teach her to be good with little kids, (at that point in my life I wasn’t even thinking I wanted kids) and it’s turned out to be a problem. Having been the only “baby” in the family for so long, she just doesn’t appreciate sharing the attention and gets pretty grumbly towards the babies at times. She’s never bitten anyone, but she makes the mean, snarly face at them sometimes, and we just can’t take a chance. Given the fact that my mom can give her more attention than I can, its probably for the best. That, and she is a husky, and is really more suited for the northern climate she’s going back to. I just feel like I failed her, big-time. I’m going to miss her more than I can say.
I might get in big trouble for posting one of these next pictures.. This was when me, Todd and Cobi were stuck inside for quite a while during Hurricane Charlie.. we were in an apartment and for a while we hid in the bathroom because it sounded like our sliding glass door was going to buckle in. We passed the time by taking funny pictures. (Of them, not me).
