We went to the Arts and Music Festival today at Lake Eola.. fun! It’s such a nice park and there were lots of vendors and art exhibits, although I have to say the kids didn’t appreciate that part very much. We met April and her boys there and took a nice little stroll around the lake. Unfortunately, Lily decided she was over it about 1/2 way around the lake, and decided she no longer wanted to be carried.. or ride in the stroller.. or walk. Or eat, or drink. She just wanted to wriggle and scream, and so she did. That didn’t stop us from stopping at a booth to get a free ID kit for each baby- including photo, fingerprint and DNA sample:) Seriously- they tell you to rip out a couple hairs by the root, and they gave us a little baggie for it to go in the kit. Would anyone like to volunteer to come get a hair sample from the kids? Let me know.
Just after we got on line ( The Adams 3, plus our 3) A lady with one baby got in line behind us. I felt like we were at the grocery store, you know when you have a giant cart full, and someone with 2 things gets on line behind you, so you let them go first? Except we didn’t let her go first, and I felt kind of bad about that, but our kids were already getting whiny and bored. Sorry, lady.
I had a few moments tonight after we got home when I pondered taking Lily to the ER… she was just intermittently cranky. Like, one minute she would be smiling and playing, and the next minute she would be inconsolable- and she’s never like that. If she’s upset, she always stops crying if you pick her up, but she was still unhappy. Then I remembered that she had lost a barrette today, and I didn’t find it. At the time I figured it just fell on the ground, but I started to wonder.. what if she swallowed it? What if it’s stuck somewhere in her digestive system, causing her pain and damaging her organs? I started to get worried, then I took another look in the van to see if it was in her carseat. And, there it was. Phew. No more barrettes, Mommy can’t handle it when they go missing!
I ran 3.1 miles tonight without stopping! I am on a roll!
