I think it’s safe to say that I need to regroup. I realized today that the kids are now 18 months old (holy cow!) and I need to make them a well-baby appointment for shots, etc, so after breakfast, cleanup, laundry duty this morning I called the pediatrician’s office to make the appointment.. at which time I was told that I actually already had an appointment- it was this morning, and I missed it. I don’t know how I let that happen!! We have never missed an appointment for the kids and I feel like a terrible mom now. I rescheduled the appointment for next week, and we will probably get whacked with a 60.00 fee for each missed appointment. Ug. I thought about it and of coure, they usually call and remind me when I have an appointment coming up, but I never received that call.. and since we recently switched our home phone service to another company, and I never set ip our voice mail, I didn’t get the message. OK, I guess it’s time to set up the voice mail. I kind of liked not having it, it was one less thing for me to worry about. But, I suppose it serves a purpose:)
I’ve been really overloaded lately with the kids, running, the blog… maybe that’s why I got sick? Getting sick really threw me off my path, and I’m having a hard time getting back to normal. I just don’t have my energy back yet, which is very strange. I could probably use a visit to my family dr.. I have no idea how long it’s been since I saw him.. but it was way before I had the kids. Speaking of the kids, that’s probably what people would rather read about, so I’ll give you a little triplet update..
HOLY TEETHING is all I can say. Cameron has at least four teeth in the process of popping through. My poor little pumpkin, no wonder why he wants nothing but to be held all day. He really is a good little boy, though, when he isn’t biting his siblings, that is. He’s just so sweet and silly and loves to giggle. He was crawling and rolling and giggling all over the couch tonight, cracked me right up. Last night all three of the kids were working on their somersaults.. Cameron especially thinks they are hysterical. He’s big into waving now.. he waves at everyone (and some inanimate objects) that we pass when we go for walks in the neighborhood.
Lily.. is perhaps turning into a bully. I will have to keep an eye on this because I catch her grabbing her brothers’ shirts and pulling them down to get them out of her way, and just taking what she wants from them. There is no danger of her being taken advantage of by her brothers. Ever. I let the kids try a popsicle tonight and she was so funny… she kept grabbing it and putting it in her mouth, but the cold was very off-putting to her and she would grimace after every taste, and then grab it again.
Ben is still an escape artist! I now have all four dining room chairs in a packnplay, blocking the kitchen doorway because it is the only way to make it heavy enough to where he can push it out of the way and run through. This also prevents him from climbing up onto the chairs, and thus, the dining room table, so I think it’s a good solution, although it looks pretty weird to have no chairs at our dining room table, but stacked in a packnplay. The only drawback to this arrangement is that the packnplay is also kind of heavy for us to move, and completely blocks the doorway.. which means that we always have to walk through the kitchen now to get through, which is kind of annoying. It’s ok, I’m just glad I can keep them out of the kitchen now, so we’ll deal with it:) Anyway, back to Ben.. he’s just such a character. Loves to put shoes on. More often, they have to be Lily’s shoes. But that’s ok.
OK. I am going to try to figure out how to set up my voice mail, and then I’m going to work on my big “regroup”. I apologize for the lack of pictures- I’ll work on it!
