No pictures today, but we had our 18 month well-check up today so I thought I’d give you a little report. The kids look great! Ben and Lily weighed the exact same: 23.8 pounds, and Cameron was 23 even. All three are exactly 32 inches tall. Their ears looked perfect, their hearts sounded great, and their hips are all even (the doctor checked their butt creases! How funny is that?).
The only slight concern is that Cameron and Ben only say about 4 words each right now. Their doctor wasn’t worried yet, but said if they didn’t pick up a few more in the next few months it would be a concern. I have a feeling they are all about to start talking a lot more- they seem to be understanding what I say to them a lot more lately.
They did get two shots each, which they didn’t really care for, but they all recovered quickly.
I got to get out for my birthday for a little while last night! Disney has a “birthday” program where you have a choice of getting a free ticket, a free all day fast-pass, or a 75$ giftcard, and I didn’t want to waste that! I grabbed the giftcard because I figured I can get some gifts for the kiddos at least, and I was hoping to catch the last show of “American Idol” at MGM, but once we got there we realized the park was closing just as we got there. That was a bummer, but we ended up going over to EPCOT, and then to Jellyrolls (piano bar on the Boardwalk) where I used to work, and I got to see some of my old friends that I haven’t seen in many years. It was fun telling people that knew me then about the kids- nobody could believe it:) Overall it was a great night, and I had a much better birthday than I expected!
And then, in a crazy stroke of fate, I went out again tonight! Just to a GOMOTT meeting, which was really kind of a bummer because there was a lot of talk about club laws and board positions and not that much fun stuff. And then the icing on the cake.. karma paid me back for repeatedly mentioning my dislike of the way we sing Happy Birthday at every meeting to all the moms who have a birthday that month, by making me the ONLY person there who had a June birthday. So I had my own private serenade by the whole club, it was great. (A big thanks to April and Amanda and Melissa for helping to make that possible. I will totally remember that.)
I feel really guilty for going out two nights in a row. There is a NICU meetup tomorrow night, where they are having some MoMs go to the hospital where I had the kids to talk to the parents of multiples in the NICU but I just can’t bring myself to go. Three nights in a row would be just too crazy. I wish I had skipped tonight and then I would feel a little better about going tomorrow!
That is all! We are having some company tomorrow so I should have some fun pictures then!
