I am more than proud to tell you that the kids and I made a very delicious pizza for dinner tonight, (yes, they helped!), but first let me show you the amazing new products that I stumbled upon in the grocery store today. I have no idea how on earth I have survived the last 33 years without these:
On the left, its the special tomato container, for keeping tomatoes fresh when they are cut, but not used up. Genius. Yes, I have tupperware, but it’s not nearly as cute, and how will I miss this giant tomato in the fridge now? No more fuzzy tomatoes for me…
On the right, we have the invention that may keep me from going completely gray by Christmas. I don’t know when such things began to drive me crazy, but there is something about the sight of a tube of toothpaste that is squeezed from the middle that makes my blood pressure rise a little bit. I have tried purchasing the standing, squeeze-bottle varieties, but they are more expensive, and you get less toothpaste! So again, I am quite excited by my purchase. And only slightly disappointed that by buying these two little doodads I probably negated all my bargain shopping at the grocery store today. It’s ok, it’s worth it to have these amazing inventions in my home, making my life that much easier
And now, on to dinner! I decided to throw caution to the wind, and let the kids help me make a pizza for dinner tonight. They love being able to run around in the kitchen, and were totally excited to help me with the pizza!
I found a great recipe for easy, quick pizza crust. I hate long, complicated recipes, so this was great for me:
1 pckg Active Dry yeast
1 teaspoon white sugar
2.5 cups bread flour (you can use all-purpose also)
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons Olive oil
1 Cup warm water
You add the yeast, sugar, and hot water, mix them and let them sit for 10 minutes, then add the rest of the ingredients, mix them up until you have a nice little blob of dough, and let that sit for five minutes. Spread in a pizza pan, add your toppings, and cook at 450 for 15-20 minutes. EASY!
Ben does not appreciate being made to wait for his pizza to cool.
All in all, a lovely evening. I found out today that I will be getting an AWESOME product from Kolcraft to give away for a fundraiser for my Team in Training fundraiser! I am up over 300 dollars now, so I am excited about that!
I am going to attempt to get up early, before the kids, and go for a jog tomorrow. I’ll let you know how it goes!
