My apologies for being mostly absent from this blog lately, but I’ve just been next door, at Who Knew” Reviews, working on the Blog For A Cure Blog Party which is doing pretty darned great so far! Since Sunday night, we have raised over 700 dollars! This brings my fundraising total to over 1300… meaning I have 1100 more to raise. I really, really, really, want to get to my total by the end of the week so that I can stop stressing about the fundraising and concentrate on just the actual running! Which means, I still need a lot of help from all of my blog friends in spreading the word about the party! Please blog, tweet, FB, ANYTHING! There is a prize for the person who refers the most participants, which is a beautiful handstamped, personalized silver necklace from StephieMc Designs!
I wanted to also talk a little about one of the people that inspired me to try to do Team In Training in the first place. Training for a marathon and raising a boatload of money for charity is a daunting task, even if you have NO kids- but I have always wanted to do it. I just wasn’t sure if it was too crazy. Then I came across The Amazing Trips.
I was shocked when I read about this woman that not only has triplets, but a singleton as well, not to mention a full-time job and had already exceeded her fundraising goal before the race had even arrived. This was the final push that I needed to make the decision to sign up. I did, and never looked back. Ok, now that I am spending exorbitant amounts of time in front of the computer and staying till at least 3 every night organizing and promoting online fundraisers, I may be looking back a tiny bit from time to time, but i am glad I made the commitment, and as I see the doantions adding up, I know I made the right decision. This money is going to help saves lives, and that is the simple truth. That is the goal, and that is what matters.
But, I digress. Jen, the Amazing Trips Mom, has exceeded her fundraising minimum, completed her marathon, and is continuing to raise funds, this time for the Susan G Komen 3 Day event. ( Here is where we part ways, because I can’t wait until I have met my goal and can take a break for a little while from the fundraising!) I continue to be inspired by her efforts… and her fundraising methods.
If you have seen my stroller giveaway- well, let’s just say that I “borrowed’ the idea from Jen!
Her latest fundraiser is a bracelet sale….. for 5.00, you will get a beautiful “Be Amazing” silicone bracelet, and a chance to win this AWESOME set of wooden blocks, valued at over $300!
Can I tell you how much I would love for my kids to have these? I remember the nursery school that my mom worked at, that I went to as little girl, had these..
Click here to support this AMAZING triplet mom, and maybe you’ll win these! You know, I know some triplets that are turning two very soon that would really like these… the giveaway ends this week, so hurry up and enter!
