We have been busy around here, that’s why! Doing things like:
watching fireworks at EPCOT
playing with upside down babies in fake snow made of soap..
..touching things that we shouldn’t be touching… possibly causing those things to tip over…. more than once
..hanging out with our awesome new au pair, Ploy!
..biting each other and then demanding a reconciliatory kiss..
..watching the trains go by in Germany (at EPCOT)..
..taking really bad pictures of really pretty Christmas trees:)
..walking under shark tunnels..
..visiting with the seals..
and hanging out with out friends the Adams boys!
I know, I should include some more details.. The kids are LOVING our new au pair. She is very sweet, calm and patient. The kids love to give her hugs, and they get upset when she goes in her bedroom,- they put their little faces up to the space under the door and try to stick their fingers Oddly enough, they have decided to call her “KK” even though that is not remotely close to being her name. We are looking forward to the next year with a new member of our family!
The kids are amazing me more every day, and driving more crazy at the same time. I think they must have learned at least 100 new words in the last week or so. And I think there have also been the same amount of bites, smacks, and pushes between the three of them. They know that they have to say “sorry” and give a hug after they hit or bite someone.. so now they are almost at the point where they are apologizing before they do it. Kinda of funny to watch.. (smack—“SAHHH-wwweeee”) but actually not funny. Equally not funny is Cameron’s love for the F-word. Nothing like walking down a quiet street and having your two year old see a truck and yell “*uck!” Nope, not embarrassing at all! I see some serious speech therapy in his future.
Nevertheless, their inadvertent swearing and violent infractions are balanced out by their sweetness and immense love of hugging.. everything. Yes, they love to hug us, but they also love to hug walls, shoes, the couch.. whatever. They throw their arms back and say ‘Huggggieeeees!’, all the while blowing kisses in the air. Pretty adorable. They kiss each others’ ‘owies’ and grab each others’ hands, trying to get each other to dance.
They love all things related to Elmo, trains, and are also getting pretty into Mickey Mouse. It helps that every other house in our neighborhood has an (extremely classy) plastic set of Mickey and Minnie Mouse in holiday attire in their front yard.
The Christmas tree has “fallen down” three times now. It’s getting old. Todd may not realize it but this is the last year we will be getting a real tree. It really annoying cleaning up the water, needles and broken ornaments every time. The top half of the tree is full of ornaments while the bottom is pretty much naked. As far as the tree is concerned, December 26th cannot come fast enough!
Other than that, we are just about ready for Christmas. I really didn’t have to do much since we don’t have any plans:) Actually, if the weather is nice, we may go to the beach after we eat breakfast and open presents.
Hope you are having a wonderful holiday!
