Want to know one of the best things about having an au pair? I can now take the kids to the park and actually let them out of the stroller! It’s still pretty tricky to contain them and make sure they don’t fly off of any play structures, but seeing them run around the playground freely, able to explore and run and jump, is priceless.
In less happy news, we have a serious biting problem. I really need to look into some new discipline techniques because time-outs seem to be enjoyable for the kids. They like sitting in the corner.. (My-Mout!) and will put themselves in time-out from time to time. Usually Cameron is the biter, but lately Benjamin has been doing it and today he left a giant bite mark on Cameron’s face. Poor little pumpkin.. I was at work but Ploy said that he ran and hid from Ben after that.
Otherwise, things are going well. I’m trying my best to figure out some kind of routine, but it’s hard when Todd and I work different hours every day and every week. Oh.. and I have a little half-marathon to complete this Saturday… yikes. It is of course, getting really cold now, so at 4 am, when I make my way to the starting line, it will likely be in the 30-40 range. Ugh. I will be glad to have this race behind me, and then I’ll choose another race later in the year, and actually train properly for it. I just found that doing the fundraising and training simultaneously for TNT was a little much for me this fall.
That’s all I can come up with for now! Hope you are having a New Year!
