So how cool was it that I was featured on SITS? I feel so special. If you haven’t joined this network, I highly recommend it!
I have been terrible at updating my blog lately, but it’s because I have been busier than ever. I decided it was time to get back in shape again (yes, after I ran a half marathon), have been working a lot, and cramming as much fun stuff as I can in between everything else. This week we took a trip to the Lowry Park Zoo, and it was so nice. Kind of a last minute decision, but it worked out well because it was not crowded at all. Since we had Ploy with us, we didn’t really need our stroller and the kids could actually walk a little, which was really fun- they LOVE being free to explore. Luckily, it was not very crowded either, and the weather has started warming up nicely.
The highlight of the zoo is always the petting area, where the kids can harass the poor, good-natured goats in a safely enclosed area. We had our friends, the Adams boys, with us so it was fun to see all the kids running around chasing goats, and each other.
But wait- there was a second highlight (for me, anyway) I got my husband to ride a camel. Seriously. You can take a short ride on a camel at the zoo, so I had Todd take Lily. (What a good sport, right?) While it wasn’t crowded at the zoo, we did keep encountering the same family on all the attractions; a husband and wife with their toddler. The other husband was just getting off the camel as Todd was getting on, and I heard him say to his wife “We are totally done having kids.”
I didn’t really think anything of it at the time because I was trying to hold Cameron and Ben back from jumping off the giant platform onto the camel track.
Everything seemed fine, Lily seemed to enjoy the ride. They got off and Todd looked at me and said. “That was the most painful 5 minutes of my life. Please don’t ever ask me to ride a camel ever again.” Point taken.
We also took a “Safari Tour”, rode the carousel, and fed the giraffes. Fun stuff. I can’t seem to get those pictures uploaded, so I’ll have to add those later. I do however, have pictures from our trip to Clearwater Beach last week. It was a little chilly, but beautiful nonetheless!
