Today was another one of those fantastic, spontaneous days off that I didn’t expect to have, but definitely made the most of. I was scheduled to work but due to some last minute changes in the tee-sheet, I was no longer needed. Since I was supposed to work, I had scheduled Ploy to work today too, so I was able to have her watch Lily and Cameron while I took Ben for a little one-on-one time. (I realized later, that today should have been Cameron’s turn-oops!)
First, we headed to the bank. Even just a little errand was kind of fun with him, because it was his first time inside a bank. He was pretty excited about it, actually- waving “hi” to all the tellers and being super cute in general.
Next, it was off to my golf course for a little breakfast, and a quick golf cart ride. He loooooved the golf cart. I find them pretty fun too so I understand. I took him for a ride on the course and found an empty hole, so I could try to take a couple pictures of him…
but he just headed right back..
to “drive” some more!
(Curious George had to come along with us today on all of our adventures!)
Next, we went for a haircut. I really wish I had taken a picture of him getting his hair cut, because he was so adorable and good for it- didn’t make a peep or move a muscle. When the hairdresser held his chin to make him look straight at her, he gave her a big dimply grin and made her crack up. (In case you are wondering, we took off about three inches of his hair. Still keeping it longer, just like we like it.)
After the haircut, we went to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I didn’t want to stay too long because it was really hot, but wanted to do a couple rides or shows with him. He’re one of the highlights: meeting Handy Manny!
Here’s where it got a bit dicey; Ben had a bag of cookies in his hand when he walked up to Manny. The photographer asked to to take it out of his hand, so I tried but of course, Ben threw a fit. I didn’t really care if he had cookies in his hand, I just wanted to snap a quick photo. The photographer (Disney guy) told me he could not take a picture with any food in his hand (and therefore neither could I). Is that weird or what? I guess they don’t want Manny to get dirty? Either way, just as I was about to pull the plug and give up, Manny outstretched his arms to Ben and it did the trick!
Hey! Handy Manny has the same shoes as Ben!
We caught the Playhouse Disney show, just as it was starting! Awesome!
Chilling on my lap:)
Dancin’ in the aisle..
We also caught the Lights! Motors! Action stunt show- I don’t recall ever seeing this show before so it was fun for me too. Ben loved watching the stunt cars and motorcycles doing tricks. It was pretty amazing seeing all the stunts that they do within such a small space.Herbie showed up too, which is always exciting. If you are into Herbie.:)
I caught a picture of a stunt where one of the actors caught fire… kinda cool. I felt kind of bad that I brought my son to a show where he saw a man get caught on fire though. Slightly violent, but I don’t think he was too traumatized.
All in all, another great day with my offspring. I am a lucky, lucky mom.
