I have been meaning to do this for a while, but I seem to have forgotten how to blog. Our days are always so busy with school/work/activities/appointments that I never seem to be able to take time to sit down and write. I’ll have to tack that on to my 2016 goals list!
One of many things that kids do, is grow quickly. I know it won’t be long until they are crazy teenagers and I just want to memorialize the funny, sweet, innocent children I have right now. Well, mostly innocent.
You are growing up exactly how I knew you would. At eight years old, your teacher tells me that you are one of the leaders in your class, and I’m so proud of that. I always hear how you are my mini-me, but that’s one way that we differ- I was a shy kid. This year you joined a hip-hop dance class, with absolutely no fear. You jumped right in on the first day (even though all the other kids knew each other), and danced your butt off with no fear. I was so proud. You love your dancing and singing, that’s for sure. You love to lip sync and dance to Katy Perry, Rihanna, and the musical Mamma Mia! (That’s my doing). Your favorite song right now is Adele’s Hello. We blast it in the car and sing it together. Your BFF this year is Savannah, and your teacher says you are inseparable at school.
You are a very skilled artist, especially at drawing. You drew a picture of a lion in first grade that was something you would see from an adult! You do great in school, and love to learn about everything. The other day you said to me , “Mom, I just want to keep learning and learning forever.” I was so proud.
You love to go through my jewelry box (something I think all little girls love to do) but please, stop taking my stuff! You are especially fond of my hairbrush, even though I have bought you at least 27 brushes of your own. Every morning when I go to use it, it’s not in my bathroom because you grabbed it and left somewhere else in the house.
I’m going to tell you the good, the bad, and the ugly. I love you more than anything, but you drive me banana-balls, as I knew you would. You are a back-talking, stubborn, and sometimes sneaky little thing. You love to ARGUE!! I wonder where you get that? (It’s ok to argue…. not with your parents:) You and your brother Cameron can be the best of friends one minute, and mortal enemies the next. You torment him sometimes to the point where you are sent to your room for the rest of the day.
You are quite the writer as well. You wrote a story a few weeks ago about a dragon who had “two annoying brothers” who teased her, so she got revenge on them, and they never did it again.
Another of your favorite things to do is bake- cupcakes, cakes, cake pops, anything sweet. I keep delaying your baking right now because I trying to eat healthy and I have no self control.
I am so proud of the amazing person you have already become, and I know you will continue to make me proud. You ARE just like me-but better. Braver. Smarter. Better fashion sense.
